No pitting or rust, all mechanisms such as the safety de-cocker, double action, single action functioning very smoothly.
Numerous ‘Waffenamt Acceptance’ German eagle and code number stampings on frame, slide, and all other key components. The Spreewerke factory produced the least amount of P38s during the war, making this a most collectable version. This example was manufactured by Spreewerke factory between 1943 -1945, as shown with the 'cyq' stamping. The Walther P38 was in production from 1939 to 1945. It was intended to replace the costly Luger P08, the production of which was scheduled to end in 1942. The Walther P38 (originally written Walther P.38) is a 9 mm semi-automatic pistol that was developed by Carl Walther GmbH as the service pistol of the Wehrmacht at the beginning of World War II. Having said that, this would probably be best kept as a collectable, which will continue to increase in value, as they become increasingly scarce, and difficult to find good examples in Australia particularly. Club legal, which means no collectors licence required, and able to be used at your club if you choose.
